Investment Trainee Program Associate

At SAFE Investment, we are seeking a talented individual to join our 2-year Investment Trainee Program. This comprehensive program is designed to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge necessary for further advancement in investment teams.

The program offers various research projects, including corporate action analysis, company fundamental research, and big data analysis. Trainees will work closely with experienced mentors from portfolio managers to traders on each project, gaining early access to global financial markets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operational responsibilities: Handle daily investment operations, cash management, monitor and reconcile cash-flow, portfolio management, trade reconciliation, order placement etc.
  • Understand market regulations, trading practices, and investment rationals related to investments you manage.
  • Communicate timely with portfolio managers on impactful events such as corporate actions, significant market events, or risk events.
  • Responsible for data governance, inventory acquisition, and analysis.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by enhancing processes and creating efficiencies, contributing to strategic infrastructure development.

Project-based responsibilities include:

  • Company fundamental research to develop thorough understanding of company business models, revenue and cost drivers, competitive positioning, industry dynamics, and operational initiatives.
  • Create and maintain cash flow valuation models and scenario analyses used to estimate intrinsic value of companies under coverage.
  • Varying data projects, back testing signals or algorithms to draw investment insights or enhance current strategies.
  • Analyze corporate actions to understand event rationals, fundamental impacts, and different market participant perspectives.
  • Study index methodology to understand index changes and forecast potential future liquidity events.

Requirements:

  • Fresh graduates or less than 3 years of experience in investment management.
  • Masters or PhD in finance engineering, accounting, applied mathematics, computer science from recognized universities.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, well-organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates with programming and quantitative analysis background or thorough understanding of stock valuation principles preferred.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

We offer an attractive salary package of around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, and opportunities for career growth and professional development.
