Job Title: Manager, Publishing and Editing

The Hong Kong Palace Museum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Publishing and Editing to join our team. As a key member of our publishing department, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining editorial standards and guidelines for all publications and public-facing materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the publication production process from content development to timely delivery, ensuring consistency and brand image.
  • Oversee publication budget and profit/loss for projects, as well as procurement of services from contractors/vendors.
  • Edit publications and other outgoing materials, ensuring high-quality content.
  • Contribute to revenue growth through publication-related fundraising initiatives and grant reports.
  • Supervise assistant managers and associate editors, providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with museum staff and external partners, including publishers, printers, and consultants.

Requirements:

  • Recognized university degree in Languages, Literature, Art History, History, Journalism, or relevant discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in editing art, design, and culture-related publications or materials, with a strong background in museums or art/cultural organizations.
  • Outstanding editing skills, with experience in creating innovative publications in English for arts and cultural fields.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese, with knowledge of Putonghua an advantage.
