The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory organisation that promotes Hong Kong's external trade. We are seeking a dynamic and high-calibre professional to join our Exhibitions and Digital Business Department as a Section Head, Business Planning.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for a leader who can manage resources, maintain and execute policies, procedures, plans, and systems in all aspects of operational duties for trade fairs and public fairs in Hong Kong.
  • The successful candidate will formulate operation strategies and develop strategic and contingency plans to ensure smooth execution of projects.
  • They will prepare budget forecasts/scenario analysis, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and exercise budgetary control and prepare financial reports.
  • The role requires conducting research, observing industry trends, providing strategic insights, and identifying new development opportunities.
  • The Section Head, Business Planning will participate in the development and enhancement of related IT Systems.
  • They will oversee the full spectrum of event services, including appointment and supervision of service vendors, cooperation with venue operators, and liaison with stakeholders.
  • The role also involves implementing ad-hoc compliance measures in relation to new policies and regulations.

About You:

  • You have a university degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 8 years' solid managerial experience in marketing/business development is required. Experience in the exhibition industry is an advantage.
  • You have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and are fluent in Putonghua.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proven track record in operational planning and execution are essential.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, able to handle multiple tasks with tight timelines, are necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with strong leadership and team management skills, are required.
