Job Overview

At Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, we are seeking an exceptional Executive Director of IT Operations to lead our IT Operations team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the stable, secure, and flawless operations of our IT systems.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in IT Operation Management, with a strong background in complex and integrated environments. You will lead the short-term and long-term evaluation of our operations team into a modernized and agile support organization, contributing to various IT-wide strategies such as operational automation and cloud adoption journey.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing short-term and long-term operational transformation strategies and action plans, and managing their executions.
  • Performing operational process reengineering, gap analysis, and identifying enhancement opportunities, including the introduction of automated workflow and process management systems or tools.
  • Creating a dynamic, highly motivating, and adaptive culture within the operations team. Managing multiple teams of resources and determining appropriate organization structures for continuous talent development, succession, and talent redeployment for new businesses.
  • Continuously expanding the scope of work of our IT operations team, including Cloud, Dev-ops, Infrastructure, Security, and Application level 1 and level 2 supports, in addition to system operations.
  • Ensuring effective and efficient management of day-to-day IT operations, including 7/24 shift arrangements and multi-site operations across China and overseas.
  • Developing and maintaining operational KPIs. Interfacing with business departments in matters related to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key business development initiatives.
  • Leading major incidents and mobilizing/coordinating IT resources in resolving problems according to established IT incident and problem management procedures.
  • Managing IT systems failover (and relevant drills) within agreed Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO), and leading continuous improvements in disaster recovery procedures and executions.
  • Ensuring the implementation of appropriate controls for IT security and compliance matters in IT operations, in accordance with relevant company policies and IT standards.

About You

We are looking for an individual with at least 10 years of working experience in IT systems, applications, infrastructure, and data centre operations, including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity. A degree in Computer Science, Information System, or IT-related disciplines is required. Experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated organizations is preferred.

You will possess strong knowledge on ITIL processes, Lean, and Six Sigma, with skills and experience in process re-engineering and IT operations management (ITOM) solutions. Additionally, you will have a good understanding of international IT standards and best practices, including but not limited to ISO 20000, 27001, and ITIL. Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of HK$800,000 - HK$1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical and dental insurance, annual leave, and training opportunities.
