Job Summary:

The Employee Well-being and Leave Management Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the well-being and leave requirements of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited's cabin crew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate support to cabin crew members dealing with health-related issues, helping them recover quickly and return to their duties.
  • Oversee cabin crew under attendance support programs to ensure they receive the necessary care and encouragement for a successful recovery.
  • Administer the Company's Alcohol and Other Drugs policy, facilitating follow-up actions as needed and assuming the role of 'Company Monitor' under the Company Alcohol and Drug Assistance Policy.
  • Collaborate closely with the Service Excellence Teams to ensure cabin crew receive the best possible support.
  • Identify and address patterns and instances of malingering and absence abuse cases, providing cabin crew with the appropriate support and care.

Attendance Related Case Management:

  • Monitor cabin crew attendance and medical conditions to ensure they meet the job's service and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with the Group Medical Department and relevant service providers to provide cabin crew with necessary medical assessments, advice, and support.
  • Identify advanced attendance cases and recommend them to the Attendance Monitoring Committee for employment review.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure the best possible outcomes for any future legal cases.
  • Communicate AMC resolutions to cabin crew in a clear and supportive manner.

Crew Crisis and Incident Management and Other Support:

  • Participate in emergency and accident activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Inflight Service Delivery teams during crises or incidents.
  • Assist with the administration and arrangement of cabin crew leave, if required.
  • Perform any other tasks and duties assigned by the Head of Cabin Crew/Well-being & Leave Support Manager and/or Assistant Manager Well-being & Leave Support.
  • Deputise Assistant Manager Well-being & Leave Support when required.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or above.
  • At least 3 years relevant working experience.
  • Knowledge of cabin crew policies and procedures and a good understanding of the cabin crew culture.
  • Good interpersonal and counselling skills.
  • Knowledge of the relevant ordinances and best practices to ensure legal and contractual compliance.
  • Strong fact-finding, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English with local language an advantage.
