The engineer is accountable for the quality of their own work, subject to direct operations supervision, prescribed work instructions, and system checks. They execute within a well‑defined operations framework with a step‑by‑step sequence of standard operational tasks to achieve an end result. Roles and Responsibilities Degreed engineers perform on‑site life extensions, repairs, and inspection‑related service activities for installed fleets and supervise construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment at customer sites. This includes onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics. Engineers may make engineering decisions. Develop conceptual knowledge in a professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in a broad area. Apply general business knowledge acquired through education or past experience, understanding how the work of their team contributes to the area. Resolve issues using established procedures, consulting supervisors or more senior team members for issues outside defined instructions or parameters. Collaborate with others to solve issues. In customer‑facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE, exchanging technical information, asking questions, and checking for understanding. Required Qualifications Basic experience in Services & Field Services. Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
