Project Details We’re looking for flexible, independent, reliable, and energetic volunteers to help rescue surplus bread and deliver it to beneficiaries on a Saturday evening. Below are the basic expectations and responsibilities you’ll be taking on as a volunteer. What We Need Sign up on Breadline.hk and select the bakeries you will collect from and the drop‑off points you’ll deliver to. Bring your own collection bags and check in for real‑time updates. Be available every Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. One‑time volunteers are also welcome. Help us move toward zero waste by saving leftover bread before it goes to the landfill. Note: Breadline does not provide a certificate or letter of participation. Background Hong Kong generates more than 3,250 tonnes of food waste each day, while one in five residents live in poverty. Breadline is Hong Kong’s first public digital platform that connects volunteers with bakeries to rescue leftover bread using real‑time updates. By delivering the rescued bread the same evening, we support the homeless, low‑income families, refugees, and the elderly poor.
