Be flexible, independent, reliable, energetic and available each Monday from 7 pm to 9:30 pm (one‑time volunteers are also welcomed). Background Every day in Hong Kong, over 3,250 tonnes of food waste are dumped into landfills, while one in five people live in poverty and struggle to eat. Breadline is Hong Kong’s first public digital platform for food rescue. Volunteers connect with bakeries to recover leftover bread and deliver it that very evening to grassroots partners. What We Have Breadline has 3 vehicles, partners with 4 NGOs and 5 major bakery chains, and collaborates with 170+ bakeries and thousands of volunteers. Our vision is zero waste. Why This Is Important We need flexible and reliable volunteers to help achieve a 100 % recovery rate and support the homeless, low‑income families, refugees, and the elderly. Project Period 01 Jan 2026 – 31 Jan 2026 Location Sheung Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui About the Organization Breadline (HK FoodWorks) – A registered charity that connects volunteers to bakeries to collect bread surpluses for those in need. We have recovered over 300,000 pieces of bread and received multiple grants. Causes Environment Food Waste What We Do We offer a web application that connects volunteers to bakeries for just‑in‑time bread rescue, providing real‑time updates and ensuring maximized efficiency.
