Founded in 2008, AUW is an international liberal arts university dedicated to educating and empowering the next generation of women leaders across Asia and the Middle East. Today, AUW enrolls nearly 2,000 students from 15 countries , including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, India, and across the region. AUWSF and its Hong Kong arm operate in a fast‑paced, globally connected environment with major fundraising campaigns, events, partnerships, and strategic initiatives continually underway. The Hong Kong Support Foundation plays a crucial role in advancing AUW’s mission by cultivating philanthropic leadership, mobilizing regional support, and elevating AUW’s visibility among Hong Kong’s most prominent donors, corporate partners, and academic institutions. Position Summary The Executive Director manages the AUW Hong Kong Support Foundation, advancing fundraising, stewarding donor relationships, guiding communications, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role blends strategic leadership with practical, hands‑on responsibilities, especially in writing, event coordination, and donor engagement. Reporting to the Hong Kong Board and closely working with the Managing Director of AUW Support Foundation, the Executive Director manages relationships with both established and emerging donors, including high‑profile philanthropic leaders, requiring polished and thoughtful relationship management. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operations of the Hong Kong Support Foundation. Coordinate closely with AUWSF HQ in Boston and other regional foundations. Support Board members with briefing materials, updates, and meeting preparation. Manage internal systems including donor tracking, project management, and communications. Donor & Stakeholder Management Cultivate and steward relationships with individual, family, and corporate donors. Support high‑profile donor engagement alongside the President & CEO. Liaise with, cultivate, and grow partnerships in the People’s Republic of China, including philanthropic, educational, and corporate stakeholders. Build alliances with educational and civic institutions in Hong Kong with shared interests–– including internship partners, employers, universities, and civic organizations. Prepare donor briefings, follow‑ups, and tailored communications. Lead the organisation of AUW’s annual fundraising gala and symposium hosted in Hong Kong. Orchestrate an annual visit of Hong Kong supporters to AUW’s campus in Chittagong. Coordinate bespoke donor events, student‑focused activities, and community engagement. Develop tailored proposals, cultivation strategies, and manage donor pipelines. Assist with the placement of AUW students and graduates in internships, employment opportunities, and graduate programs in Hong Kong. Engage institutional partners and employers to expand opportunities for AUW alumnae. Communications, Media & External Relations Oversee messaging, storytelling, and public‑facing communications in Hong Kong. Conduct outreach to media outlets and other platforms to enhance AUW’s visibility. Produce or refine speeches, event materials, press notes, and donor communications. Represent AUW at selected events and meetings. Qualifications 7+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, external relations, communications, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with donors, partners, senior volunteers, or community leaders. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to prepare polished donor materials, briefings, and event messaging. Experience supporting or coordinating fundraising events, donor engagement activities, or stakeholder outreach. Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, with sound judgment, discretion, and emotional intelligence. Ability to work both strategically and hands‑on, contributing to planning while also executing tasks directly. Mission‑driven and committed to advancing women’s education and leadership. Cantonese or Mandarin language skills are helpful but not required.
