Elite 3E / ERP Project Manager

Rouse is a global Intellectual Property (IP) leader operating as a closely integrated network with more than 800 people working out of 20 offices in 16 jurisdictions. We focus exclusively on IP, from strategic consulting, patents and trademarks through to domain names, copyright, designs, and geographical indications. At Rouse, we are experts in providing services for each stage of the IP life cycle.

In this senior project leadership role, you will lead a globally distributed project team to oversee Rouse’s Practice Management System (PMS) migration from Elite Enterprise to Elite 3E. In addition to overseeing this systems migration, you will facilitate discussions on accompanying process improvements across Rouse’s financial operations.

This role has extremely high visibility and you will be working very closely with the global Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in London as well as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in Hong Kong. You will also collaborate with the vendor’s Project Manager and be supported by their world-class implementation team, in addition to Rouse business and technology project headcount across the globe.

What you’ll do

  • Take charge of the definition, approach, and execution of the Elite 3E migration project.
  • Deliver the project managing across an organization of 900 staff, a global finance team of 60 people, and a core project team of around 20 people, distributed globally.
  • Manage key dependencies with parallel Chrome River (AP) and Pre-Bill Approval (AR) projects.
  • Manage and collaborate with diverse global stakeholders to deliver impactful changes across the business.
  • Maintain world-class project status reporting and steering forums.
  • Oversee the Project Budget in absolute alignment with Group Finance.
  • Oversee a highly disciplined Project Change Control process.
  • Communicate, Communicate, Communicate.
  • Formally identify, report upon, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintain realistic project plans with a clear focus on the Critical Path.
  • Supported by the CFO and CIO, negotiate resource availability as required with Lines of Business.

What you’ll need

  • Important: Whilst direct Elite 3E project exposure will be beneficial, you are also encouraged to apply if you have ERP project management experience with other large ERP, PMS or Finance platforms (Aderant Expert, SAP, Oracle Financials, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms).
  • Important: The project team straddles Australia to Europe, with a concentration in the UK, and you must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate these project teams.
  • Prince2, PMP, or a similar formal project management qualification.
  • At least 15 years of experience running large, globally distributed projects and working across many cultures.
  • At least 5 years of experience running ERP-style projects.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written English language skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Understanding of baseline accounting principles and corporate financial processes.
  • Experience in a professional services environment would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail with exemplary interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A deeply collaborative work style with a preference for respectful, productive communications.
  • A willingness to travel occasionally, mostly throughout Asia, UK, and Europe.
  • Whilst not essential, experience with any of the following is a bonus:
    • Elite 3E or Elite Enterprise
    • FP&A Reporting
    • Familiarity with Microsoft's cloud and proficiency in modern development techniques.

Reporting Lines

Direct reporting line to the Chief Information Officer (Global CIO) in Hong Kong.

Dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in London.
