Key Responsibilities Assist technicians with the collection of various specimens, classification, checking, labeling, recording and registration. Handle specimens, operate other simple and semi‑skilled technical work under supervision. Handle the disinfection of contaminated glasses and containers, reuse or dispose them as appropriate; dispose corrosive and poisonous reagents, chemicals and articles which are likely to be infectious. Assist with the preparation of culture media, solvents, reagents, dyestuff, containers or glasses in laboratory which need special treatment. Operate autoclave, high temperature oven to sterilize the clean or infectious articles under supervision. Sterilize, clean and tidy the working table and equipment in laboratory. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry Requirements Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; AND Completion of structured departmental training (see Remark 2); AND Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken. Pleasant and mature personality, interested to work in hospital environment. Knowledge in computer software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing. Applicants who do not meet entry requirement (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on‑the‑job training including the structured departmental training.
