Job Description - Endoscopy Assistant (NTE ) REF. NO. : NTE Application Deadline: 18 December 2025 Date of Issue: 5 December 2025 Vacancy Notification Circular No. NTE Position: Endoscopy Assistant Rank: Patient Care Assistant I Cluster: New Territories East Cluster Pay: HK$24,875 - HK$29,305 per month Up to 5% of total basic salary as end‑of‑contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and handle related items, equipment, environment, and documents for various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to endoscopy needs. Perform checking, cleaning, sterilizing and disinfection (reprocessing) of endoscopic and ancillary equipment, and their routine maintenance and repair. Assist in endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Assist in positioning of patients for endoscopic procedures. Assist in observing, measuring and recording patients' vital signs and providing personal care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures in the Endoscopy Unit and other hospital locations. Provide direct or indirect patient care, such as arrangements for patients receiving, queuing, and leaving the department, and assist in identifying, transporting, transferring and accompanying the patient. Assist in transportation, packaging, supplementation, application and storage of various endoscopy‑related accessories and supplies. Undertake clerical duties, such as word processing, computer applications and reception services, when required. Assist in verifying and proper handling of patients' specimens. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry Requirements: F.5 / S.5 with passes in HKCEE Chinese Language & English Language (Syl. B) or Level 2 or above in Chinese Language & English Language in HKDSE or equivalent. Completed Corporate Patient Care Assistant (Endoscopy Assistant) Training Program organized by Hospital Authority (HA). Possess at least 3 years' relevant work experience. Able to speak fluent Cantonese, write and read Chinese and English, and speak English. Preferred Attributes / Exposure: Possess relevant working experience in hospital or other health care institution. Applicants who do not meet requirements (2) and (3) may be employed to undergo at least 3 years of on‑the‑job training, initially appointed as Patient Care Assistant II, followed by structured departmental training and further training; final salary adjustment will result in appointment as Patient Care Assistant I. Required to wear heavy lead gown to work in radiation area if needed. For Serving HA Staff: Staff with F.5 / S.5 standard and 3 years' care‑related experience may also be considered.
