Middle Office Support / Settlements Officer / Operations Officer Cantor Hong Kong is currently seeking a Settlements Officer to interface with clients, clearing agents and front office colleagues for day-to-day and settlements processing. Job Summary As a Settlements Officer, you will support trade lifecycle management, monitor and resolve trade exceptions, communicate with custodians, perform trade reconciliation, collaborate with internal departments on new book setups, participate in system enhancements, and drive process improvements. Job Responsibilities Provide direct support to trade lifecycle management including CTM matching, trade confirmation, and settlement for cash equities and fixed income products. Monitor and resolve trade exceptions (e.g., new sub account, security setup in back‑office systems). Work with traders to ensure trade details are booked accurately, and handle trade amendments where required (e.g., brokerage, market fees). Communicate closely with custodian banks and clients to minimize unmatched or failed trades and to escalates issues on a timely manner. Conduct trade reconciliation (Front vs back‑office system FOBO) and cash/stock breaks (internal system vs custodian banks). Collaborate with internal departments including Front Office, Onboarding/KYC, and IT for new book setups and client onboardings. Participate in system enhancement projects on system replacement, new products, and process improvement. Identify, streamline, and resolve workflow issues; challenge the status quo and introduce process enhancements to manual and/or risky processes. Job Requirements 2+ years of Middle Office support / Settlements experience is required. Prior knowledge of Asia equity settlement practice of APAC markets is preferred. Prior technical knowledge with Fidessa, Bloomberg (TOMS), Euclid, DTC, CTM, Traiana, Microsoft Outlook and Excel would be a plus. Ability to operate HK Exchange terminals (e.g., CCASS, DCASS, HKATS) is preferred. Knowledge of SWIFT standards & messaging is preferred. Ability to prioritise daily workload and work in a fast‑paced environment. Strong team player, quick learner, and resolute while under pressure. Good written and presentation skills. Willingness to work on public holidays whenever needed (on shift/rotation basis). #J-18808-Ljbffr
