Manager (Architecture) in the Campus Development Office (Ref. R/350/25) Campus Development Office (CDO) is responsible for building project development and property maintenance. Our office provides comprehensive professional services across a wide array of building project types, including the institutional, office, residential, and hospitality categories. Our responsibilities range from master planning to architecture to interior design, covering all stages of the development process, from client’s brief and design requirements to project management and site supervision until project completion. CDO also provides facility maintenance and building repair work to ensure the campus operates smoothly at all times. Reporting to the Associate Director/Senior Manager of Campus Development Office, the appointee will be one of the key management team members of the design management team to implement the University’s vision and mission. S/he will play a key role in various capital and alteration projects from planning to implementation and delivery, particularly on design and planning aspects. Duties Organise and co‑ordinate the development of a campus of excellence that demonstrates the University’s uniqueness and identity through promoting innovative and smart design, forward‑looking yet sustainable campus, as well as a vibrant and interactive learning environment that fosters social interaction and enhances connectivity within the University; Lead and implement the planning of architectural projects, with constant review and update to ensure alignment with the University’s vision and mission; Assist in establishing initial design and provide early‑stage planning advice through conducting initial feasibility studies, analysing development potential, reviewing constraints and opportunities, and exploring test‑fit design schemes; Review ongoing projects and provide design‑related advice to upkeep the design quality; Monitor and report on the progress and quality of works for new developments, redevelopments, and renovation projects; Provide advice on structural design, on‑site problems, project planning, and implementation; Check and coordinate relevant drawings, supervise contractors and workers to ensure compliance with requirements; Coordinate among consultants and contractors, users and in‑house units; and Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Architecture or Building Surveying; Full member of HKIA, HKIS, or an equivalent professional body; At least 10 years of proven experience in architecture; Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua is a plus; Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office. Additional software skills in 3d Max, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Autodesk Certified are a plus; Knowledge in 3D computer software, such as Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, and AI is a plus; Strong organisation, communication and relationship management skills; Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; Proficiency in preparing presentations; Being self‑motivated, able to work independently, with the awareness to seek guidance and support when necessary; Being open and receptive to receiving coaching from supervisors and colleagues, able to assimilate feedback and learn quickly; and Being a collaborative and patient individual, with a passion in design are required.
