What you’ll do Manage and engineer the company’s global Relational Database solutions. Ensure and enhance the integrity of our mission‑critical data offering. Innovate and take responsibility for the database environment. Troubleshoot and support the databases as part of a global team of DBAs. Work closely with other teams to improve and enhance the estate. Make and implement recommendations to prevent reoccurring issues and automate manual processes. Interface and communicate with all levels of the business up to and including the CTO. You should have 4 years experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment. Excellent knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB. Exposure to other databases (Sybase, MongoDB, Postgres or MSSQL). All database management activities: performance tuning, estate improvement, planning and implementation. Complex database replication topology support. Installation, migration and upgrade experience. Backups, restores, HA and DR skills. Database performance tuning. Stored Procedures and SQL writing. UNIX scripting skills. Strong knowledge of at least one of bash, ksh, perl, ruby. Awareness of and adherence to production change management processes and procedures. Knowledge of supporting Java applications an advantage. On‑call support of weekends experience.
