We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) at Bank of China (Hong Kong) to support, maintain, and optimize database systems across the bank’s enterprise environment. Responsibilities Install, configure, and upgrade database servers. Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning of database systems. Design and optimize SQL queries and database schemas. Develop and maintain documentation of SQL environments and operations. Collaborate with security and system administrators to resolve security, performance, and stability issues. Recommend improvements for operating policies, technical architecture, and configuration of database systems and related applications. Requirements Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline. At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, MS SQL, Oracle UDB, or similar database administration. Strong skills in physical database design and problem determination/solving. Experience with Linux batch scripting and scheduling. MCDBA/OCP certification is a plus. Ability to support parallel projects in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment. Willingness to provide off‑hours and on‑call support. Excellent analytical and creative thinking, and capacity to work under pressure. Knowledge of IT inventory management, IT operation automation, cloud/big‑data architecture, system security, ISO 20K/ITIL, or procurement/financial management is an advantage.
