Bar Director As a Bar Director, you will be the creative force behind the distinctive bar Swim Club, our lobby lounge Birdsong, and our all-day dining Hillside—each with its own vibe, but all united by your vision. About the Hotel Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong is a boutique hotel located in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, featuring 495 rooms, five culinary outlets, a rooftop infinity pool, and wellness facilities. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Oversee daily bar operations (primarily Swim Club, while maintaining consistent monitoring of Birdsong and Hillside) and ensure adherence to all standards and protocols. Develop innovative beverage concepts, including yearly signature menus and promotions to enhance guest experiences and drive sales across all three property bars. Collaborate with the culinary team to create complementary food and beverage pairings. Develop and monitor the coffee and tea program for all three property bars. Lead and motivate bartenders and baristas of all outlets, fostering a culture of teamwork and guest satisfaction. Provide ongoing training and professional development to the bar team, ensuring top‑notch service delivery. Maintain inventory and control costs while ensuring health and safety regulations compliance. Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate contracts for spirits and coffee, and work closely with industry partners to secure strong supplier support. Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to keep all bars at the forefront of the market. Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, with at least 3 years of hotel experience (4* or 5*) at a bar manager or bar director level. Holder of local Hygiene Manager Certificate and/or Food Safety and Hygiene certification. Proven track record in bar operations with a deep understanding of beverage trends and market dynamics. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead. Excellent business acumen, ability to budget, analyse P&Ls and deliver high margins. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction. Attention to detail, good planning, organising and problem‑solving skills. Excellent command in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), speaking and writing; speaking other languages is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
