Senior Vice President - Structured Finance Department (Job ID 4509)

Position Summary

Uphold the overall credit quality of the loan portfolio in Wholesale Banking Division (“WBD”) by proactively providing financial solution in various structures, including loan refinancing / restructuring, loan sale and disposal of the collateral, to the corporate clients.

The role holder will also need to work closely with Credit Risk Management Department (“CRMD”) to ensure the transactions can be executed smoothly and timely in the interest of the Bank.


Responsibilities

  • Explore loan refinancing / restructuring and loan sale from the portfolio and the disposal of the underlying collaterals (if any)
  • Assess pros & cons of different strategies together with CRMD to come up with the appropriate execution plan
  • Identify potential lenders / buyers of the collaterals by close liaison with different industry players
  • Offer funding solutions or match with buyers’ requirement for the disposal of the collaterals to the clients in the interest of the Bank
  • Facilitate potential buyers / lenders in conducting due diligence (incl. site visit) and work with CRMD as well as other stakeholders for the required documentation and execution of the transactions
  • Build and strengthen relationships with investors, lenders and other related stakeholders in the market
  • Work with other staff of SFD, CRMD and other business units of WBD
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Division Head and Department Head

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related disciplines;
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Banking / Finance sector or relevant industry with proven track record in originating, structuring and/or distributing financing solution in various structures
  • Real Estate or valuation experience would be highly preferable
  • HKIB related qualification would be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of property market and good network of contacts across the industry areas (e.g. valuators, agencies, funds, family offices, etc)
  • Self-driven, outgoing, well-organized with ability to work independently and to work with different internal an/or external parties to deliver constructive results
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English, Cantonese and Putonghua
