Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Vice President to lead our Financial Solutions Group in ESG finance business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting ESG business both internally and externally, securing SMBC's leading ESG market position in the region, and developing business opportunities in ESG finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote ESG business and secure SMBC's leading ESG market position in the region.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify business opportunities in ESG finance and develop strategies to capture them.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement ESG finance business plans and strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry experts.
  • Provide thought leadership and expertise in ESG finance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial plans for ESG finance business development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years of banking experience with at least 6 years of exposure in ESG finance.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability finance, including Green/Social Loan Principle, Transition Finance, and ESG disclosure standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
