We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Global Trustee and Fiduciary Services - HSBC Securities Services.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Perform oversight and ensure all clients and service providers are operating in accordance with relevant rules and regulations as prescribed by the regulators and the constitutional documents of the scheme or fund, with a focus on pension products
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in managing incident reporting and queries from the regulator, and ensure regulatory returns are effectively managed and filed within regulatory deadlines
  • Act as a link between the team and Head of Operations to ensure business is conducted appropriately, ensuring a high standard of governance and reporting to the Trustee Board
  • Managing BAU activities to ensure internal and external enquiries are actioned in a timely manner
  • Identifying key risks and ensuring appropriate and timely escalation to senior management and risk stewards
  • People management- providing guidance, support, motivation and development opportunities to subordinates
  • Act as one of the focal point of contact for trustee clients and service providers in relation to regulatory developments, client queries and escalations
  • Liaise with scheme sponsors, operations, legal and compliance on process, product and documentation changes and review regulatory submissions where applicable
  • Continually assess and report operational risks associated with the trustee’s functions and obligations
  • Design and implement internal controls to ensure trustee’s obligations are discharged with continuous monitoring
  • Lead and execute projects to meet with regulatory requirements, client initiative and/or wider bank’s initiatives
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent work experience
  • Sound understanding and or familiarity with financial instruments, stock markets and derivatives
  • Direct experience in Hong Kong pension funds industry, preferably with a minimum of 5 years of experience dealing with MPF trustee related matters
  • Detailed knowledge of the Hong Kong pension and funds regulatory environment
  • Appropriate technical knowledge to deal with legal, accounting and technical issues arising in relation to servicing of funds
  • Ability to analyse complex business issues and propose solutions
  • Appropriate technical knowledge to deal with legal, accounting and technical issues arising in relation to the pension administration or management of funds
  • Self-motivated and requiring minimal guidance and supervision on day-to-day deliverables
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to influence outcomes when working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to articulate fiduciary requirements and risks clearly
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities and capable of negotiating positive fiduciary outcomes
  • Extensive experience in a similar role within a similar Hong Kong based institution
  • Fluent English and Chinese language skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
