Executive Officer II, Alumni Affairs and Development Office (carrying the job title of ‘Manager, Communications and Alumni Relations’)

The Alumni Affairs and Development Office (“Alumni Office”) is a specialised team in the Business School to grow and cultivate a healthy and robust alumni community with modern and relevant engagements. Major functions include alumni engagement via organising various events and activities, content development and management, data management, key stakeholders’ relations and fundraising. 

Reporting to the Administrative Director or her/his designate, the appointee will be the communications and content lead of the Alumni Office, and will be responsible for (a) formulating content and communication strategy and content planning; (b) creating, editing and producing contents, such as school and event news and alumni stories in different formats, including copy (English and Chinese), graphics, photos, videos, etc.; (c) briefing and supervising freelance designers, writers and video production teams for content production; (d) publishing content and marketing materials with CRM software and CMS platform, and managing owned channels, including eDMs, websites and social media platforms; (e) curating content from other offices; (f) tracking and reporting on the progress and effectiveness of channels, content and communications campaigns; (g) liaising with alumni, and both internal and external stakeholders; (h) representing the Alumni Office at events and managing special projects; (i) time and budget management; (j) assisting in event management, formulating alumni affairs strategies, and updating database; and (k) performing other impromptu duties. Working flexible hours and travelling for business purposes may be required. 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing or related disciplines; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: ; (iii) at least 6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in corporate communications, content development and management, public relations, advertising, marketing, event management, or related fields; (iv) excellent writing and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English (knowledge of Putonghua is advantageous); (v) strong project management and multitasking skills, a can-do, well-organised and detail-minded work attitude with good interpersonal skills, a proactive and agile mindset, and capability of working independently and as part of the team; and (vi) proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress, Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud, with knowledge of SEO/ SEM/ content marketing/ WeChat marketing is an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for written test(s) and interview.
