As a Senior Manager, Payment Partnership, Global Merchant & Network Services, your primary responsibility will be to identify, establish, and manage strategic partnerships and acquisitions to drive growth and expand the card acceptance acquiring business. You will play a key role in developing and executing partnership strategies, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and staying ahead of industry trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities. You will be reasonable for contributing to the strategy of enabling GMS acceptance in emerging forms of payment and partnering with key stakeholders.

This high visibility role requires an individual with demonstrated skills in partnerships, sales, contract negotiation and customer management. Additionally, the successful candidate will ideally have an established network across the merchant acquiring space in Hong Kong and can demonstrate they possess strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively identify and pursue new partners opportunities to expand merchant coverage in new industries and enable AMEX acceptance in emerging form or payment. Build and foster relationships with new merchant acquiring partners to strengthen the overall American Express partnership, proposition and relevance within their organisation. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with potential merchants to ensure mutually beneficial agreements. Support end-to-end with the operational implementation of merchant partner recruitment, processing and servicing arrangements. Assist Merchant Acquisition Director to develop and implement the coverage roadmap for our merchant acquiring partner vertical, driving scalable growth in the number of merchants actively accepting American Express and subsequent transaction volume. Deliver robust partner reporting, forecasting and results tracking to be shared across all levels of the business, including senior leaders. Define and implement strategies in conjunction with Merchant Engagement and Marketing and to drive activation and billings growth for newly acquired merchants. Demonstrate enterprise thinking and collaboration across the company to deliver the desired coverage outcomes and perception of coverage gains. Ensure compliance to Acquisition Policies and manage Pricing, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Network Policy requirements relating to contractual and operational matters.

Skills and experience required:

Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (MBA preferred). Proven experience in acquisition or business development roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Experience in driving results through partnerships by building and leveraging sales strategies, customer and change management. In-depth knowledge of the payment industry, including payment technologies, trends, and regulatory landscape. Adaptability and resilience to navigate rapid industry changes and drive innovation. An established network within the banking industry, ideally within merchant services or merchant acquiring is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
