We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager, NBFI.

Principal Responsibilities

The role reports to the Head of NBFI, Commercial Banking Hong Kong, and will be responsible for driving the development of Non-Bank Financial Institutions (‘NBFI’) clients within a dedicated NBFI coverage team, providing comprehensive relationship management for those clients headquartered or with a presence in Hong Kong. Strategies will be devised and executed to identify and grow clients in key subsectors within the NBFI milieu, including but not limited to: Funds, Securities & Brokers, Insurance & Brokers, Asset Management & Wealth Management, and FinTech & Paytech . This dedicated NBFI unit provides specialist coverage to understand the risks and opportunities for Commercial Banking, seeking to maximise wallet opportunity in this highly specialized industry.

You will be responsible for assigned revenue growth target and risk management (both financial and non-financial) activities in relation to the NBFI sector and the clients under management, ensuring operations are within HSBC risk management appetite parameters. Origination capability is required for this role to be able to drive NTB customer acquisition. This will require close work and collaboration key stakeholders across business lines, Risk, and Products (including but not limited to Global Payment Solutions, Global Trade & Receivables Finances, Global Markets, Securities Services, Capital Markets and Advisory.

Responsibilities:

Implement and drive NBFI coverage strategies for Asset/Wealth Manager, Insurance and Fintech; establish network with key external players in the these subsectors, including key clients, industry associations, regulator, and professional service providers Deliver key product offerings and engage relevant internal stakeholders. The key product offerings will be competitive in the market and at the same time generate new revenue stream. The key internal stakeholders should be equipped, with the help from NBFI coverage team, strong industry knowledge to implement products and better serve NBFI clients Understand the fast changing market dynamics and regulatory updates that will often challenge conventional coverage and credit assessment methodologies, identifying the key risks and mitigants where balance sheet support is required Provide innovative ways to maximize opportunities not only for NBFI coverage team but also other parts of the Bank Continually assess operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economics or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technologies Manage and mitigate operational risks in day-to-day operations, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting Serve as subject matter expert to handle enquiries from internal / external stakeholders and thought leadership engaging various parts of the Group Maintain HSBC internal control standards and address audit points and/or any issues raised by regulators in a timely manner; foster a compliance culture within the team, managing compliance risk and ensuring that the necessary training is completed and optimize relations with regulators Responsible for business development with a selective pool of prioritized NBFI customers Collaborate with the China team to form a streamlined client acquisition plan targeting New-to-Bank NBFI customers in Greater China Deliver assigned revenue target and implement strategy to increase market awareness Implement and drive NBFI coverage strategies for Asset/Wealth Manager, Insurance and Fintech; establish network with key external players in the these subsectors, including industry associations, regulator, government agencies and professional service providers Requirements Solid experience in Banking, preferably experience with Hong Kong and China market Well-established network and knowledge of Asset/Wealth Manager, Insurance and Fintech Strong understanding of the core Commercial Banking products and Global Banking & Markets products and how they are evolving to support NBFI clients Strong credit assessment and analytical capabilities for NBFI lending and ancillary products Strong interpersonal and communication skills applicable through written, spoken, workshops and presentation channels. Team player and self-starter, be able to set and manage own agenda, while ensuring alignment with stakeholder priorities The ability to be flexible and be able to respond quickly to change will be essential Fluency in English and Mandarin
