Associate Director of University & Careers Guidance With strong links to Malvern College, a leading independent school in Worcestershire, England, Malvern Colleges Asia seeks to appoint an inspirational Associate Director of University & Careers Guidance to lead and facilitate the University Careers Guidance across campuses in Chengdu, Hong Kong and Tokyo. The Associate Director of University & Careers Guidance is responsible for supporting admission to universities and higher education institutions worldwide. The postholder is expected to lead and work alongside all Malvern College University Counsellors on various Asian campuses with particular but not exclusive responsibility for Oxbridge, Ivy League and other prestigious university applications. Appropriate liaison with Malvern College UK is also part of the remit. The successful candidate must have strategic vision, appreciation of the Malvern heritage, familiarity with IB DP and A-level programmes, strong interpersonal and leadership skills and exceptional professionalism. S/he should be able to play a significant part in the development and growth of Malvern Colleges in Asia, and contribute to achieving the goal of the schools being recognised as amongst the top British International Schools in the region. Main Duties & Responsibilities Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic vision for university and careers guidance that aligns with the school's mission and the Malvern Qualities. In partnership with school leadership, lead and manage a team of University Counsellors of Malvern College campuses in Hong Kong, Chengdu and Tokyo, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Have an in-depth knowledge of competitive university admissions globally, particularly Hong Kong, the UK and the US. University Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with universities, colleges, and employers to facilitate more effective guidance for pupils. Coordinate visits from university representatives and organise trips for pupils to educational institutions locally and internationally as appropriate. Student Support: Guide the school-based counsellors to provide personalised guidance and excellent support to pupils in selecting appropriate university courses and career pathways relative to their needs, aspirations and academic profile. Coordinate the preparation of pupils for application to elite universities globally, especially in the UK, the US and Hong Kong. Organise workshops, seminars, and events to educate pupils and parents about university applications, career options, and job market trends. Organize coaching sessions for general staff to enable them to tutor the pupils appropriately for university and careers counselling as well as guidance on writing references for students. Integrate careers education into the school curriculum, ensuring pupils are aware of various career options and the skills required. Collaborate with academic departments to support pupils' academic choices in relation to their career goals. Oversee the organisation of mock university interviews and admissions tests with the academic team. Other jobs and duties assigned by the supervisor.
