The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Compliance professional to join our team as a Director/Associate Director, Compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day advice and support on sales and distribution compliance matters across different channels and business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on sales and distribution compliance matters, ensuring that our business operations are in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Support projects and new business initiatives to ensure that sales and distribution risks are properly identified, mitigated, and monitored.
  • Develop and implement effective sales and distribution frameworks, controls, and monitoring programs to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct annual and/or thematic compliance reviews, as per the Annual Compliance Plan and/or assigned by regulators or management.
  • Perform gap analysis on new regulations related to Data Privacy and maintain and execute implementation on updating data privacy policies and manuals.
  • Provide support and regulatory advice on product development and any ad-hoc assignments or tasks delegated by the Deputy Head of Compliance.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer in handling data privacy incidents and internal or external audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law, accounting, or business.
  • At least 15 years of compliance-related working experience in financial institutions in Hong Kong, with at least 5 years in the insurance industry.
  • Relevant experience in dealing with regulators such as the Hong Kong Insurance Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission.
  • Familiarity with insurance-related legislations and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Good interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
