Within KPMG's Consulting practice, we embrace both strategic planning and implementation. Our Hong Kong division stands out as the fastest-growing segment of KPMG China, characterized by a dynamic and enthusiastic team that consistently strives for excellence. The Technology Risk team at KPMG focuses on assisting clients in managing technology-related risks and compliance issues across the three lines of defense. Our professionals leverage industry knowledge, IT controls, and technology expertise to navigate these challenges strategically and tactically. We employ leading methodologies and tools, maintain objectivity, balance growth with risk, and utilize our global reach and local insights to address the intricate interdependencies of business, financial, and regulatory environments.

We are currently seeking qualified individuals for both Associate Director and Manager roles to contribute to team growth, client engagements, and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement daily activities for technology risk assessments, emphasizing strategic, operational, and regulatory/compliance risks.
  • Plan and execute internal audits and IT control/risk assessments in areas such as cybersecurity, IT governance, IT operations, business continuity, network security, cloud risk, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate client processes and controls against industry best practices, identify design and execution gaps, and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Assist in proposal development, project scoping, financial oversight, and initial review of deliverables.
  • Identify growth opportunities and collaborate with the broader team to drive business development.
  • Enhance the technology risk knowledge base and contribute to internal practice development initiatives.
  • Supervise and manage performance for junior staff on assigned projects.
  • Build internal networks and foster strong relationships with colleagues across KPMG, particularly in Technology Consulting, Audit, and Advisory.
Additional Responsibilities for Associate Director:
  • Lead team growth initiatives in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and presentations with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Drive business development efforts by identifying new client targets and nurturing relationships with key executives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to KPMG team members regarding project deliverables and performance management.
Experience & Background
  • A minimum of five years of experience in internal audit, IT risk, or IT compliance, either in-house or within a professional services firm, particularly in the Financial Services sector.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience leading risk-based IT audits and assessments, with familiarity in frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, and ITIL.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of core business processes across various industries.
  • Proficiency in IT Risk Management and three lines of defense frameworks.
  • Exceptional reporting and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), with strong interpersonal abilities.
Additional Qualifications for Associate Director:
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in building market presence and fostering client relationships.
