Within KPMG's Consulting practice, we integrate both strategy and implementation, ensuring comprehensive solutions for our clients. The Technology Risk team at KPMG is dedicated to assisting clients in navigating technology-related risks and compliance challenges. We support the first, second, and third lines of defense through strategic and tactical approaches, leveraging our industry knowledge, IT control expertise, and technological insights. Our methodology includes utilizing leading tools, maintaining objectivity, balancing growth with risk, and applying our global reach and local expertise to address complex business, financial, and regulatory interdependencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement daily activities for technology risk assessments, emphasizing strategic, operational, and regulatory/compliance risks.
  • Plan and execute assessment programs, internal audits, and IT control/risk evaluations in areas such as cybersecurity, IT governance, IT operations, business continuity, network security, cloud risk, and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze client processes and controls against industry best practices, identify design and execution gaps, and communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, financial oversight, and the review of deliverables.
  • Identify business opportunities and collaborate with the broader team to foster growth.
  • Enhance the technology risk knowledge base and contribute to internal practice development initiatives.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of junior staff on assigned projects.
  • Build internal networks and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across KPMG, particularly within Technology Consulting, Audit, and Advisory.
Additional Responsibilities for Associate Director:
  • Lead team development and growth initiatives in the Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area.
  • Produce and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations with actionable insights for clients.
  • Drive business development efforts by identifying new client opportunities and fostering relationships with key executives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to KPMG team members regarding project deliverables and performance management.
Experience & Background
  • A minimum of five years of experience in internal audit, IT risk, or IT compliance within the Financial Services sector.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in leading risk-based IT audits and assessments, utilizing frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, and ITIL.
  • Strong understanding of business processes across various industry sectors.
  • Proficiency in IT Risk Management and three lines of defense frameworks.
  • Exceptional reporting and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), with the ability to engage senior executives effectively.
Additional Qualifications for Associate Director:
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to establish market presence, identify business opportunities, and cultivate lasting professional relationships.
