About the Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Chief Investment Officer to lead our investment management team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in asset management and experience in senior leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the investment management department, comprised of teams focused on equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and indexing strategies, as well as product specialists, responsible investment teams, and investment support and dealing teams.
  • Collaborate with the management team to execute business plans and grow the business, providing executive presence at governance platforms and the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure investment teams deliver performance that meets fund objectives and client expectations over an appropriate time horizon.
  • Provide insights on macro-economic development and top-down factors driving market performance.
  • Optimize resources and capabilities to support business growth and new initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and execution of responsible investment practices, including investment stewardship & corporate engagement, research in relevant ESG topics, and alignment with UNPRI practices.
  • Lead team heads in grooming young talents and encouraging team members to grow and learn, identifying necessary training needs.
  • Act as an ambassador for the firm, articulating investment views and strategy to clients and the public to promote the firm's franchise and investment opinion leadership.
  • Maintain a robust control environment to ensure compliance with Group policy and procedures, identifying and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements

  • A university education with a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in asset management, with a proven track record in senior leadership roles.
  • Possession of the CFA designation is expected, with other relevant professional qualifications welcome.
  • Relevant SFC licenses as a Responsible Officer, with experience as Key Investment Personnel and/or Manager-in-Charge.
  • Prior experience managing portfolios investing in Hong Kong/China/Asian markets, with a deep understanding of the Hong Kong/China market.
  • Investment knowledge across various asset classes, with risk management and regulatory compliance expertise.
  • A strong sense of business ownership and client servicing mindset.

Estimated Salary: HKD 1,500,000 - 2,000,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
