About Shangri-La's Communications Role

We are seeking a seasoned communications professional to join our team as an Assistant Vice President, Strategic Communications. This is a key leadership role that will drive the development and implementation of our corporate communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Communications Strategy
    • Design and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, investors, and employees.
  • Lead Communications Team
    • Manage and mentor a team of communications professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality communications outputs.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team is equipped to handle complex communications challenges.
  • Drive Business Results
    • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communications initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Develop and implement metrics to track the success of communications efforts.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
    • Work closely with the marketing, public relations, and corporate affairs teams to ensure seamless execution of communications initiatives.
    • Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for communications support and develop strategies to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 Years of Relevant Experience
    • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications strategies.
    • Experience in corporate communications, with a blend of agency and in-house experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Above
    • Relevant degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent Written and Spoken English or Chinese
    • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Established Network of Media Contacts
    • Proven track record of delivering successful end-to-end communication campaigns.
  • Strong Project Management, Problem-Solving, and Multi-Tasking Skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex communications challenges.
  • Team Player with Excellent Interpersonal Skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Detail-Oriented with Strong Presentation Skills
    • Ability to handle high-stakes situations, especially in crisis communication scenarios.
