Job Title: Assistant Vice President, Strategic Communications

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team at Shangri-La as Assistant Vice President, Strategic Communications. This is a key role that will play a critical part in shaping our corporate communications strategy and ensuring the effective delivery of our messaging to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communications strategies that align with our business objectives and enhance our reputation.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute communication plans that support business initiatives and drive results.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on communication matters, including crisis communications, media relations, and reputation management.
  • Lead and manage a team of communications professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality work products and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in corporate communications to ensure our approach remains innovative and effective.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, with a blend of agency and in-house experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in a relevant discipline (Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, etc.).
  • Proven experience in thematic storytelling, corporate partnership management, and handling complex communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English or Chinese; must be a strong copywriter and storyteller.
  • Established network of media contacts, with a proven track record of delivering successful end-to-end communication campaigns.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong presentation skills and the ability to handle high-stakes situations, especially in crisis communication scenarios.
