Job Description:
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of lighting design techniques and market trends to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to ensure lighting design aligns with project vision.
- Lead lighting design process for major projects from concept development to final installation.
- Develop comprehensive lighting plans, specifications, and design documentation.
- Oversee work of lighting designers and assistants.
- Provide mentorship to team members.
- Evaluate projects against building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability requirements.
- Manage lighting design budget and timeline for assigned projects.
- Offer expert lighting design advice and make recommendations to clients.
- Support Lighting Design Manager in marketing presentations to create business opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Higher Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a professional lighting designer with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Able to complete all stages of the project independently.
- Effective communication of design concepts, responsibility, and organization.
- A supportive team player.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and PhotoShop.
- Expert knowledge of lighting principles, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g. DIALux, Lighting Reality, AGi32).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Understanding of electrical systems, lighting controls, and energy efficiency measures.
- Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations.
- Excellent collaboration and client management abilities.
- Ambitious and self-motivated with a desire for personal and professional growth.
- Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English.
