Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate full understanding of lighting design techniques and market trends to influence design decisions.
  • Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the lighting design aligns with the overall project vision.
  • Lead the lighting design process for major projects from concept development to final installation.
  • Develop comprehensive lighting plans, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Oversee the work of lighting designers and assistants.
  • Provide mentorship to other team members.
  • Ensure projects meet all relevant building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability requirements.
  • Manage the lighting design budget and timeline for assigned projects.
  • Provide expert lighting design advice and make recommendations to clients.

Requirements

  • Higher Diploma holder or above in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a professional lighting designer with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Able to complete all stages of the project independently.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts effectively, responsibly in a highly organized manner.
  • A supportive team player.
  • Competent in AutoCAD and PhotoShop.
  • Expert knowledge of lighting principles, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g., DIALux, Lighting Reality, AGi32).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, lighting controls, and energy efficiency measures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent collaboration and client management abilities.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated with a desire for personal and professional growth.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English.
