About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Affairs professional to join our team at Abbott as a Head of Medical Affairs, Greater China. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our medical and scientific efforts in the region and contribute to the development of innovative products that improve the lives of people with diabetes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Therapeutic Area Expertise
    • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned products and diabetes care through attendance/participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, relevant congresses, and seminars, and by regular self-study of national/international literature.
    • Provide expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products and glucose monitoring, including responding to requests for scientific/technical information, and contribute to the development, medical and scientific accuracy of core dossiers generated by the medical and scientific affairs department.
  • Professional Relationships and Scientific Support
    • Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers, including participating in scientific congresses, coordinating advisory boards, round-table meetings, discussion fora, etc.
    • Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals individually or in groups, where requested.
  • Clinical Research Activities
    • Support clinical research projects with KOLs, including process and applications to Global Medical Affairs.
    • Provide the required oversight to manage review of local Investigator Initiated Studies.
    • Provide support to accounts that require CGM for research purposes, where appropriate.
  • Compliance and Quality
    • Review the preparation of promotional material through VEEVA, ensuring the medical/scientific content is correct and fully compliant with Abbott's internal policies and guidelines.
    • Provide medical/scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives, as required.
  • Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
    • Use resources effectively and efficiently.
    • Able to plan, prioritize, and delegate tasks to project teams as needed to ensure timely completion of projects.
    • Maintain and operate within budget.
    • Capable of analyzing and investigating issues and problem-solving.
