Risk Management Associate Director

Our client is a leading Global Private Bank with a strong presence in the market, boasting a total asset under management of USD 700 billion. They are seeking an experienced OR Associate Director to join their Regional Group Risk team.
Key Responsibilities- As a key member of the Regional Group Risk team, you will be responsible for reviewing the risk framework and testing the effectiveness of Operational Risk (OR) controls across FTB offices.
- You will conduct gap analysis and identify areas for improvement in OR controls, working closely with the Business Risk/1st line team.
- Manage periodic risk reporting and facilitate remediation issues with compliance and external auditors.
- Advise and consult senior management on new product/business initiatives to ensure regulatory reporting and corporate governance compliance.
- A well-qualified graduate in Accounting, Risk, or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience in Big4 audit/OR risk management, preferably in an international bank.
- Good understanding of private wealth management business processes is highly essential.
- Familiarity with HKMA/SFC regulatory requirements is a definite advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and consultation experience.
- Oversight of Liquidity, Treasury & Market Risk.
- Bank-wide Asset & Liability Management.
- Support the ALM Committee as part of the Regional Risk Management Team.
- Continuously review Market risk, liquidity risk, and counterparty risk management framework to ensure compliance with group policies and HKMA/MAS regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily monitoring and reporting of market risk, counterparty credit, and liquidity risk positions.
- Assume 1st line or 2nd line of technical risk assessments, driving risk mitigation, tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with HKMA / SFC regulatory requirements and Corporate Governance.
- Identify technical risk and implement control measures by collaborating with group & regional stakeholders across IT, security, risk, audit, and compliance departments.
- Accountable for identifying potential investment/OR risk by working closely with portfolio management/investment teams, tech/operations, legal & compliance departments.
- Conduct periodic risk assessment/stress tests to ensure fulfillment of regulatory and corporate governance.
- As part of the regulatory & central compliance team for the HK branch, accountable for staff licensing, employee trading activities, and monitoring entertainment & gift activities.
- Advise business and internal stakeholders on related HKMA regulatory issues.
