Corporate Events Manager

BCD Meetings & Events is a leading global agency that specializes in creating unforgettable experiences for organizations.
Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Events Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, identifying their needs, and delivering exceptional event experiences that exceed their expectations.
Your primary focus will be on venue and supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, and financial management. You will work closely with clients to understand their program requirements, budget constraints, and key success factors, ensuring that all events meet their objectives and exceed their expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Sourcing, selection, and presentation of venues and/or suppliers, taking into consideration program requirements, budget, key success factors for the program, and legal requirements
- Provide meeting and events industry-relevant guidance, enabling highest levels of benefit to client
- Provide consultative approach to supplier sourcing, ensuring client-identified clear objectives for the outcome of the meeting, conference, or program
- Building and establishing strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business
- To keep up-to-date with the client's processes and procedures
- Negotiation and ongoing contact (including site visits) with key suppliers such as venues, caterers, restaurants, and AV suppliers as needed, utilising preferred hotel and supplier agreements
- Diploma or degree in the events/hospitality/travel industry
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in planning meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences, and/or special events
- Minimum of 3 years' experience managing outside vendors, sourcing, and negotiating contract services
- Proficient knowledge of the industry – local and global markets
- Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency in database management
- To be a proactive member of the team
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and clients
- Ability to work with and cooperate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios
