Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Equity Analyst to join our global Finance team within Global Investment Research (GIR) as a Global Industry Analyst (GIA). The role will be based in Hong Kong or Singapore, with consideration for London.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be a key member of our Finance team and responsible for conducting research and making investment recommendations on Asia Bank stocks. They will also provide expert perspective on respective subsectors and trends. As a GIA, you will conduct fundamental research that leads to differentiated insights derived from asking innovative questions, anticipating trends, identifying risks, and potential disruptions in this rapidly changing industry.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will be passionate about markets and have a demonstrated record of successful stock recommendations.
  • You will possess a fundamental, research-oriented, bottom-up approach supported by a strong investment philosophy and process.
  • You will enjoy acting as an individual contributor within a highly collaborative investment culture.
  • You will thrive by building strong relationships with colleagues and company management teams, communicating action-oriented investment opinions clearly and with conviction.
  • You will possess the ability to take risks and hold non-consensus investment views while maintaining humility to admit mistakes and course correct as new information comes to light.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong academic credentials, ideally including an MBA or CFA.
  • A fluent English speaker with bilingual proficiency in Mandarin or another Asia language preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Asia Financials (including Banks) research, ideally including experience working on the Buy side as an investor.
  • The ability to communicate effectively to Portfolio Managers across the globe (US, Europe, and Asia).
  • Demonstrated capacity for differentiated thinking.
  • Able and willing to make investment decisions under pressure and in uncertain times.
  • A strong desire and appetite for continuous learning.
  • A global perspective, in addition to regional responsibilities.
  • An understanding of how to incorporate ESG considerations into their investment Philosophy and Process.
  • The highest personal and professional integrity and ethics.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per year, plus benefits including comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
