Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our ship management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and implementing improvements to our technical operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze technical data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance vessel performance and safety.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, fleet managers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with the Onboard Management Team to ensure the accurate and timely execution of maintenance and repairs activities.
  • Manage and coordinate purchasing activities, including requisition requests, quotations, and order placement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including maritime legislation and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair plans to ensure optimal vessel performance and minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the Onboard Management Team and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct regular vessel visits and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report potential cost-saving opportunities and implement corrective actions to ensure budget compliance.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the Onboard Management Team and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
  • 3 years of sailing experience as a Senior Officer or 3 years of shore experience as a technical superintendent with a ship management/owning company.
  • Strong knowledge of vessels' technical requirements and voyage regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Very good negotiation skills.
  • Very good people management skills.
  • Team work and cooperation.
  • Very good organisational skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • PC literacy.
