Position Overview

The Aerodynamic, Acoustic and Noise Control Technology Centre is engaged in cutting-edge research focused on enhancing athletic performance through advanced sensor technology. Our team collaborates with local sports organizations to innovate in performance sports engineering, specifically in disciplines such as cycling, triathlon, and windsurfing. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the development and refinement of compact sensor systems designed to be integrated into sports equipment for real-time performance monitoring during training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and engineering of embedded sensor systems tailored for windsurfing and cycling applications.
  • Develop system architecture, create schematic diagrams, and design printed circuit board (PCB) layouts.
  • Coordinate PCB fabrication and oversee surface-mount technology (SMT) soldering processes.
  • Document development processes, troubleshoot, and evaluate prototypes.
  • Address hardware challenges encountered during research and development phases.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in robotics, electronic engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or automation.
  • Practical experience in hardware development is essential.
  • Proficient with standard hardware development tools, soldering equipment, and testing devices.
  • Knowledgeable in communication protocols such as IIC, SPI, and USB.
  • Familiar with various electronic component packages and their material properties.
  • Skilled in using Protel, Altium Designer, DXP, or similar software for schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Experience in software development is advantageous.
  • Participation in relevant national competitions, achieving top placements, is preferred for bachelor's degree holders.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAE and circuit simulation software is a plus.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage.

Contract Details

This position is for a duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal. Compensation will be aligned with qualifications and experience, and additional benefits such as annual leave and medical coverage will be provided where applicable.
