Job Description

Job Title: Legal Counsel, Associate/VP

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented lawyer to join our dynamic global markets legal team at Crédit Agricole CIB. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers, business lines, and support functions to provide comprehensive legal support on global markets and investment banking activities across the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advising business lines and support functions on a wide range of capital markets transactions, including over-the-counter and cleared derivatives, structured repos, and securities lending.
  2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documentation, as well as developing and updating standardizing contracts.
  3. Providing responsive, sound, and consistent advice on legal and contractual issues to business lines and support functions.
  4. Conducting legal research and analysis on laws, regulations, and policies affecting business lines and support functions.
  5. Representing our bank in industry forums and associations.
  6. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and acting as a professional and value-add partner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university and qualified as a solicitor/attorney/lawyer in a recognized Common Law jurisdiction.
  • 2 to 6 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Prior experience relevant to the key responsibilities above, preferably in a global financial institution or global law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of global markets laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, performance-driven, multi-task environment.
  • Ability to innovate and manage change and complexity with confidence.
  • Intellectual curiosity, thirst for learning, and proactive enthusiasm for personal development.

Language: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and another Asian language (spoken and written).
