Job Title: Global Markets Legal Counsel

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented lawyer to join our dynamic global markets legal team at Crédit Agricole CIB. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers, business lines, and support functions to provide comprehensive legal support on global markets and investment banking across the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising business lines and support functions on a wide range of capital markets transactions, including over-the-counter and cleared derivatives, structured repos and securities lending, project finance hedging, structured notes, and other wrappers.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documentation, developing and updating standardizing contracts, and contributing to the approval of new activities and products.
  • Providing responsive, sound, and consistent advice on legal and contractual issues to business lines and support functions to minimize legal risks.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on laws, regulations, and policies affecting business lines and support functions.
  • Recommending, instructing, and managing external lawyers to ensure high-quality and focused advice is received at reasonable cost in a timely manner.
  • Representing our bank in industry forums and associations.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and acting as a professional and value-add partner.
  • Performing any other duties as instructed by the Head of Global Markets Legal Asia Pacific.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university and qualified as a solicitor/attorney/lawyer in a recognized Common Law jurisdiction.
  • 2 to 6 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Prior experience relevant to the key responsibilities above, preferably in a global financial institution or global law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of global markets laws and regulations.
  • Prior exposure to global markets, debt offerings, and other investment banking products.
  • Reliable, precise, well-organized, and meticulous.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively assess and prioritize legal and contractual risk issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, performance-driven, multi-task environment and respect tight deadlines.
  • Ability to innovate and manage change and complexity with confidence.
  • Intellectual curiosity, thirst for learning, and proactive enthusiasm for personal development.
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, and a team player.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and another Asian language (spoken and written).
