Position Overview

In a vibrant and adaptable work setting, the Associate General Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel. This role focuses on delivering expert legal guidance to various business units and operational functions within the Agency & Brokerage sector, as well as new business initiatives and Bancassurance. The AGC will also be responsible for overseeing legal risks associated with special projects, including Direct Investments and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer legal counsel and oversee compliance risks in the Company’s primary channels, specifically in Agency & Brokerage and Bancassurance.
  • Manage compliance issues, litigation, and regulatory inquiries for Distribution Channels.
  • Provide legal insights for new business models and compensation frameworks related to strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Support legal matters concerning both new and existing commercial leases.

Qualifications

  • Possess a degree in Law or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in the insurance, banking, securities, or financial services sectors.
  • Experience in managing legal risks in Distribution Channels, Direct Investments, or M&A is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Macau legislation is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
