The engineering department is dedicated to ensuring the safety of personnel and customers, while also maintaining optimal performance across all operational areas. It is essential that our fleet programs align with established plans, budgets, and specifications.
The objective of the engineering team is to be recognized as a leading, customer-centric, and innovative engineering group on a global scale. The Senior Cabin Programmes Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of program management associated with specific cabin retrofit initiatives, which includes product and supplier selection through to aircraft delivery. This role will take the lead in developing product specifications, defining retrofit workscopes, estimating labor-hour costs, and scheduling aircraft inputs.
Key Duties- Oversee the design and reconfiguration of cutting-edge cabin products for both production and retrofit aircraft.
- Ensure that new cabin programs are executed in a timely manner, within budget, and in compliance with specifications for product certification, production, and delivery.
- Conduct source selection analysis for new cabin products, ensuring adherence to technical and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate milestone meetings and provide on-site support during aircraft modifications.
- Lead LOPA studies and proposals for cabin reconfigurations.
- Direct in-house cabin designs and modifications through the Cathay Pacific HKAR-21 Design Organization for aircraft induction and retirement.
- Manage cabin-related tasks for aircraft inductions and retirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cabin suppliers and Maintenance Repair Organizations (MROs).
- Initiate and guide enhancements in cabin reliability for future products through strategic stakeholder engagement and lessons learned.
- Assess costs and plan new livery designs or unique paint schemes.
- At least 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or engineering.
- A degree in Engineering or an Aerospace-related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in cabin engineering.
- Experience in supervising and managing cabin projects with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in supplier management and collaboration with OEMs and MROs.
- Preferred membership in The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
- Experience with LEAN projects is a plus.
- A background in Design Organizations is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
- A commitment to excellence.
- Ability to adapt and respond to change, with a proven track record of process improvements.
