Mercer Investments (HK) Limited, a leading global consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Technical Specialist to join our team in Hong Kong. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing, supporting, and selling our market-leading suite of investment tools to insurance companies across Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with regional consulting and sales leaders to grow our business in Asia, working closely with an entrepreneurial team to build on our strong global brand recognition.
- Develop and deliver customized insurance solutions utilizing the full breadth of Mercer's capabilities, including investment tools, data, and software services.
- Manage large-scale projects, coach team members, and solve complex problems as a recognized subject matter expert.
- Drive growth of a key strategic segment for Mercer and Marsh McLennan more broadly.
Requirements:
- Solid commercial acumen, with prior success in growing assets under management via the insurance industry.
- Extensive understanding of the asset management industry, trends, as well as products, solutions, and services for the insurance segment.
- Deep understanding of the Asian markets and ideally international insurance markets, with a possible background from within the insurance industry itself.
- Familiarity with regional regulatory requirements and Solvency II standards.
- Strong understanding of the specific investment requirements and reporting requirements of insurance clients.
- Insurance-specific background and/or years of insurance-specific working experience in providing insurance clients with asset management solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills and people leadership qualities, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
- Strong English skills, with Cantonese/Mandarin or another Asian language preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or other business-related areas, with CFA/MBA/Master's degree and/or actuarial qualifications preferred.
