The Traded and Treasury Risk Management Department aims to maintain a balanced risk profile for the bank while enabling businesses to flourish. Our team manages various types of risks and collaborates with other units and regulatory bodies to develop robust risk management frameworks.

We are currently looking for an experienced professional to join our team as Senior Treasury Risk Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide independent risk stewardship for treasury risk, focusing on liquidity risk, IRRBB, capital risk, structural FX risk, and regulatory reporting risk.
  • Maintain knowledge of liquidity risk management developments, update the Liquidity Risk Policy, and ensure the bank's framework adheres to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Provide oversight, identify issues, and escalate concerns through the governance process.
  • Review and challenge first-line activities, identify potential risks, and escalate issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and review Risk & Control Assessments for Liquidity Risk.
  • Conduct regular reviews of liquidity risk management practices and suggest improvements.
  • Engage in liquidity stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the bank's resilience to liquidity shocks.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to implement and maintain the liquidity risk management framework.
  • Support the development of a comprehensive operating model for treasury risk stewardship.
  • Engage with first-line stakeholders, own relationships with Risk and Control Owners, and shape the activities of the Treasury Risk Assurance team.

Requirements

  • Relevant treasury experience, including knowledge of liquidity, funding, capital, and structural FX risks.
  • Demonstrable experience challenging views with integrity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills in a complex global environment.
  • Familiarity with HKMA rules and regulations related to treasury risk.
  • Thorough understanding of HKBA's activities, products, processes, and systems or those of a comparable large bank or financial institution.
  • Excellent business writing, communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • High level of professionalism and competency in determining solutions around risk measures, processes, monitoring, and management.
