Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team at the City University of Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our dairy farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care: Assist in the daily care of dairy cattle, including feeding, milking, and monitoring their health and well-being.
  • Farm Operations: Assist in the loading and unloading of feed, bedding, and other raw materials, as well as maintaining the tidiness of the farm.
  • Waste Management: Dispose of waste and maintain the cleanliness of the farm, including the feed store and other ancillary buildings.
  • Stock Management: Assist in loading and unloading cattle between buildings, as well as stock loading and restraining during teaching practicals.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine duties such as cleaning of the parlour and milk room, and maintain the cleanness of the feed store and other ancillary buildings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma in Animal Science or related disciplines, or 5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language, and Mathematics, with at least 2 years' working experience.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, with initiatives, attention to work quality, punctuality, ability to work effectively in a team, good communication, organisational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgement on day-to-day tasks in prioritising and coordinating works.
