We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swine Veterinary Assistant to join our team at the City University of Hong Kong. The successful candidate will provide support to the project team and swine veterinarians for the production and health management programme for pigs farm clients in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical assistance to the project team and swine veterinarians in the production and health management programme for pigs farm clients in Hong Kong.
- Assist in demonstration and training for farm workers, collection of environment samples for biosecurity enhancement, and collection of production data for building customer profiles.
- Manage technical equipment, associated systems, consumables, and inventory control.
- Contribute to the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine education provided by the University.
- Assist in the preparation of project reports, documents, and education materials for farmers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Animal Science or a related discipline, with at least 2 years' working experience in related fields. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua. Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently and within a team, are also required. Experience in handling and management of farm animals, especially pigs, and possession of a valid Hong Kong driving license (Class 1 and 2) are desirable. Experience in commercial clinic set-up/laboratory work associated with animals, including support for teaching and research, would be an advantage.
