The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority seeks a seasoned professional to oversee the documentation of its collections in TMS, the Museum's collections management system.
This role is responsible for managing and enhancing all aspects of TMS, ensuring efficient workflows and optimal access to collections information for staff and the public.
- Oversee the customization and management of TMS applications, developing user-friendly database tools and workflows for accessing and developing collection information.
- Lead collection information projects, particularly delivering data to the web, collaborating with the Digital team to identify and implement workflows.
- Design reports on collections statistics, activities, data integrity, and location tracking.
- Develop and review the TMS training program for museum staff, evaluating effectiveness and creating new courses as needed.
- Create an internal website providing staff with TMS instructions and documentation, including data entry guides and cataloguing rules.
- Work closely with Collection Curators, Registrars, Conservation, and Archives & Library teams to agree, implement, and maintain collection cataloguing standards.
- Propose and develop collections and information management projects, such as exhibition label development and subject tagging.
- Develop additional tools for user interaction with TMS, like List View Explorer and auto-translators.
- Manage the TMS vendor relationship, prioritizing issues/needs for future development and regular updates.
- Oversee the health and security of the collections database, working with IT to ensure upgrades, patches, backups, etc., are managed timely.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and establish priorities for the Collection Information Team.
