Job Title: Risk Trainee

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Risk Management team as a Trainee. As a Risk Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the monitoring of operational incidents and review of post-mortem analysis
  • Support the development of projects to automate production, analysis, and reporting
  • Identify relevant risk indicators and contribute to their monitoring
  • Perform and coordinate the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • Monitor outsourced/externalized services and contribute to ad-hoc oversight projects
  • Ensure strong managerial supervision by reviewing control frameworks and monitoring results
  • Carry out operational processes reviews to assess their adequacy in terms of risks and control frameworks
  • Participate in operational risk awareness sessions
  • Help automate processes and develop monitoring dashboards
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, or a similar field
  • Strong interest in coding/developing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, VBA, Python, JavaScript/Java)
  • Strong interest in new technologies (Tableau/PowerBi would be a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to organize time, multitask, and define priorities (autonomy)
  • Able to interact with all levels of the organization from operators to executive management members
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a complex organization, across multiple cultures, geographies, and disciplines
  • Ability to be flexible and agile (priorities may change and escalation needs to be adapted)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change through influencing skills, be a positive change agent
  • Fluent English is mandatory
What We Offer

This is a fixed-term 12-month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full-time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position, please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full-time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
