Job Title: Business Operational Risk Manager

China CITIC Bank International Limited is seeking a highly skilled Business Operational Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our risk management function, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks across the bank.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Risk Management: Facilitate the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks in assigned areas, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Benchmarking: Conduct thorough root cause analysis and benchmarking to recommend improvements to control processes and business operating models.
  • Internal Control Assurance: Formulate and execute periodic and ad hoc internal control assurance plans, ensuring effective risk management and compliance.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare internal control assessment reports and recommend rectification or remedial actions to be taken.
  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment: Review Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) to identify key operational risks and effective mitigation actions/measures.
  • Thematic and Ad Hoc Reviews: Conduct thematic/ad hoc review/gap analysis, as assigned by Supervisor(s).
  • Risk Events and Incidents: Review risk events/incidents and customer complaints with regulatory and compliance concerns.
  • Risk Awareness and Training: Promote business operational risks awareness through training and work with respective teams to review and enhance training materials and approaches.
  • Bank-Wide Risk and Compliance Initiatives: Coordinate and assure proper execution of bank-wide risk and compliance initiatives, including BCP, disaster recovery plan, NPA policy, Outsourcing policy, Vendor risks management, and information security bank-wide policy review.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree holder in Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in related to retail banking operations risk management, or relevant compliance or audit with in-depth knowledge of investment practices and regulated banking activities.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Good understanding and knowledge of business operational risk and internal control principles; ability to assess risk trends. Thorough knowledge of banking practices on investment sales, operations, and procedures.
  • Qualifications: Preferably possess/core or professional level of qualification under the HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) on Operational Risk Management (ORM).
  • Language and Communication: Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
