Job Title: AVP, Business Operational Risk

China CITIC Bank International Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an AVP, Business Operational Risk. This role is responsible for facilitating the identification, assessment, measurement, mitigation, and monitoring of operational risk in assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Risk Management: Facilitate the identification, assessment, measurement, mitigation, and monitoring of operational risk in assigned areas.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Benchmarking: Conduct root cause analysis and benchmarking to recommend improvements to our control processes and business operating models.
  • Internal Control Assurance: Formulate and execute periodic and ad hoc internal control assurance plans where appropriate and necessary.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare internal control assessment reports and recommend rectification or remedial actions to be taken.
  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment: Review Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) to identify key operational risks and effective mitigation actions/measures.
  • Thematic and Ad Hoc Reviews: Conduct thematic/ad hoc review/gap analysis, as assigned by Supervisor(s).
  • Risk Events and Incidents: Review risk events/incidents and customer complaints with regulatory and compliance concerns.
  • Risk Awareness and Training: Promote business operational risks awareness, e.g., training. Work with respective teams in the bank to review and enhance training materials and approaches as appropriate to enhance compliance and control quality.
  • Bank-Wide Risk and Compliance Initiatives: Coordinate and assure proper execution of the bank/PBG-wide risk & compliance initiatives; including BCP, disaster recovery plan, NPA policy, Outsourcing policy, Vendor risks management, information security bank-wide policy review; e.g., end user computing, customer data governance, etc.
  • Support to Department/Team Head: Assist the department/team head in risk and control related matters, e.g., monitoring operational loss and KRIs, timely completion of the PBG governance or policies and post-launch reviews, driving achievement of balanced scorecard KPIs related to risk management and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree holder in Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in related to retail banking operations risk management, or relevant compliance or audit with in-depth knowledge of bancassurance practices and regulated banking activities preferable.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Good understanding and knowledge of business operational risk and internal control principles; ability to assess risk trends. Thorough knowledge of banking practices on insurance sales, operations, and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Language: Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
